Website access and hosting

This website is hosted on a server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in Nuremberg, Germany. Technical connection data, including your IP address and the requested resource, is processed to deliver the website and maintain its security. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in reliable and secure operation.

The website does not maintain an application access log or visitor profiles. Technical error and security information may be processed where necessary to diagnose faults or protect the infrastructure.

Contact by email

If you email matthew@materiag.de, your email address, message and any information you choose to include are processed to answer your enquiry. Email is handled through Infomaniak Network SA, Switzerland. For enquiries about an engagement, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; for other correspondence, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and our legitimate interest in responding.

We keep correspondence for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry and any resulting engagement. When this purpose ends, it is deleted unless legal retention obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims require further storage. Access is limited to what is necessary to handle the enquiry.

Enquiry form

The form sends your name, email address, problem description and optional company name through Formspree, Inc. to matthew@materiag.de. Language and a spam prevention field support delivery. Formspree also stores submissions in the form dashboard and processes technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver the service and filter spam.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for enquiries about an engagement, or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other enquiries and the prevention of abuse. The required fields are necessary for us to respond through the form; you can also contact us by email. We do not use enquiries for automated decision-making or marketing subscriptions.

Formspree processes data in the United States and other locations. According to its security information, it relies on Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers as a data processor. Further information is available at https://formspree.io/security/ and https://formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy/. You can contact us to request information about the applicable safeguards.

Enquiries in our inbox and form dashboard are kept while needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting engagement, then deleted unless legal retention obligations or legal claims require further storage.

Fonts, visualisation and tracking

The website uses no advertising trackers or third-party analytics. Fonts are served by the website itself. The block visualisation runs in your browser. The website does not set tracking cookies.

Your rights

Where the statutory conditions apply, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent for the future.

Contact matthew@materiag.de to exercise your rights. You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the EU country where you habitually reside or work, or where an alleged infringement occurred.
